Tournament Format
Participants will include teams from Grades 4 through 8.  There will be 4 teams per grade. Teams will play in a round-robin format and will play each team once (three games per team).  All games will be at Cougar Field. Cougar Field complex consists of four fields: three grass fields and one turf field.

In the event rain closes the grass fields, games will be split between Cougar turf and Shunpike turf fields. See rain schedule for details.

Game Format & Rules
Games will start on the hour. Games will be run simultaneously on all fields. There will be a common horn. Games will be two 20-minute running time halves with a 5 minute halftime. Two horn blasts indicate one minute left in the half or half-time. One blast indicates the end of each half. The clock will only be stopped by a referee’s decision. Each team gets one time-out per half.

All substitutions will be ‘on-the-fly’ through the box. There will be no horns.

The referee can at any time call a team for delay of game. It is expected that every time a team has the ball they will play in the box. The referee has the option to call a time served penalty (30 seconds) or a free 10-yard clear penalty. The referee has full power to remove from the game or Festival any player, coach or spectator who in his opinion warrants subject action.

For a tied game, there will be a 5 minute sudden death over-time period. If the score is tied after the over-time period, the game ends in a tie.

A 3-goal mercy rule is in effect for all games and all ages – no face-offs when one team is ahead by 3 goals or more.  The team with the lower score receives the ball at mid-field.
